Episode #2252 of The Joe Rogan Experience welcomed Christian apologist Wesley Huff, with whom the popular podcaster shared his take on the religious belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the central figure in Christianity. As suggested by Rogan, Jesus may not have actually died on the cross.

Instead, he proposes an alternate scenario where Jesus survived his ordeal and thereafter appeared to his disciples. He even cited a recent case of a man thought to have died, and whose organs were to be harvested by medical professionals, before he awakened.

"Do you think it's possible that he didn't die? And do you think it's possible that they thought he was dead? Because that does happen. There was actually a case very recently, where a guy was about to be harvested for organs. They thought he was dead and this guy started moving again and came back to life. It's a very, very bizarre case, cause his family had been told that he was going to be harvested for organs."

While the longtime UFC commentator offered a compelling hypothesis, it was soundly countered by Huff, who cited the efficiency of Roman crucifixion and the improbability of a crucifixion survivor being of well enough body after just three days to seek out other people and show little to no signs of physical trauma.

Huff's appearance on the JRE podcast was a departure from the recent string of political guests Rogan has hosted, and saw the former 'Fear Factor' host discuss topics he rarely covers at this point in his career.

Joe Rogan was raised Roman Catholic

Before his journey into the martial arts world, Joe Rogan was a Roman Catholic youth who attended Catholic school. However, his religious journey took a turn that his family likely didn't expect, with the comedian eventually breaking away from the Catholic Church and religion as a whole, becoming agnostic.

Rogan touched on his Catholic roots on episode #2172 of his podcast, during which he converses with author Sebastian Junger.

"I went to Catholic school when I was very young, for first grade and had a really bad experience there."

However, Rogan has steadily adopted more spiritual belief as the years have passed, even coming to consider that there may be a soul.
