Joe Rogan and Theo Von recently explored the benefits of kids training MMA at a young age and suggested that more parents consider it for their children. They highlighted key differences with how kids learn martial arts compared to adults.
For years, the UFC commentator has been open about the importance and benefits of learning MMA and highlighted how disciplines, especially Jiu-Jitsu, can be beneficial for a child's confidence.
During his latest appearance on This Past Weekend, Rogan mentioned that learning MMA and even sparring at a young age can be beneficial because kids can't get hurt compared to others who learn MMA at an older age:
"There's an argument for sparring young cause you can't hurt each other...As long as they learn control, they gotta learn to control. But if they learn control when they're young and they learn not to hit each other hard but just do it fast, man they can get so good. Because, they don't hurt each other the way adults hurt each other...[Kids] just tap each other, it's a good way to learn." [39:38]

Von also chimed in and expressed his own personal regret for not learning MMA when he was kid:
"Oh, if I could back and be a kid, I mean, I would slay...If you could go back and time and be a kid, think of all the stuff you would do." [40:22]

Joe Rogan claims addicts learn sports and other activities quickly
In addition to describing the benefits of kids learning MMA, Joe Rogan claimed that addicts appear to learn sports and other activities very quickly.
During his aforementioned appearance, Rogan used a friend of his as an example of how one can pick up a new hobby or activity and become addicted to it, which results in a rapid improvement:
"That's what happens to a lot of addicts, they get addicted to running, become marathon runners. Like, my friend John Joseph, he became an Iron Man guy, just started doing Iron Mans." [40:53]
