As Johan Ghazali continues to ascend to the upper echelons of the ONE Championship roster, the young Malaysian-American striking sensation knows the list of haters will grow. It isn't something that entirely bothers him, though.
Speaking to Alex Wendling shortly after his impressive victory in Denver, the Rentap Muay Thai Gym star shared:
"There's always going to be someone, no matter [if] you win, you lose, or you're doing well. No matter how perfect it is, there's always going to be someone [who's gonna hate]."

Being coy about the amount of naysayers, the teenager went on to add that he's already dealing with the same situation back at home with his siblings in Sarawak, Malaysia:
"But I don't care about the critics or the haters cause I get more hate from my brothers alone. So, I'm good, you know. I'm mentally fortified."
The ever-confident Muay Thai athlete returned to winning ways with a stunning first-round finish of Josue Cruz at ONE 168: Denver last Friday, September 6. Fuelled by his loss to Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat in June, 'Jojo' turned back the clock and dished out a performance that has been synonymous with his brand on the global stage.
The 17-year-old went guns blazing from the sound of the bell. Although 'Tuzo' did have his moments in the contest, Johan Ghazali's cracking combinations and a final left hook saw him secure a fifth stoppage win at the buzzer and a first US$50,000 performance bonus.

Johan Ghazali down for 'battle of the young guns' vs Freddie Haggerty
Johan Ghazali did not waste any time declaring what he wants next after his emphatic display at ONE 168: Denver.
Though the 17-year-old has been vocal about facing No.2-ranked flyweight Muay Thai contender Denis Puric, a clash against Freddie Haggerty seems to be the one that has caught his attention a bit more.
Speaking to ONE Championship, he noted:
"Freddie has been showing interest in that fight on social media, and, you know, the people wanna see it. So, let's go. Jojo versus Freddie, battle of the young guns."
