John Lineker’s legendary punching power has been the stuff of MMA legend for more than a decade. That power made ‘Hands of Stone’ a ONE world champion on March 11th at ONE: Lights Out when he shockingly knocked out ONE Championship icon Bibiano Fernandes in the second round of their world title clash.
In an interview with ONE, Lineker was asked about his signature power and if it was a natural strength or something he developed over time:
“I believe this goes back to my childhood. I worked a lot as a bricklayer's helper, so I hit a lot of dough and carried a lot of weight. I think this strength has been developing since I was a kid. Of course, today I do specific training. I do physical preparation with alternating periods of strength, power, and functional [training]. All of this helps to potentiate my punches even more.”
While John Lineker continues to harness his strength through training, the power he possesses came naturally at a very early age:

“But like I said, I started working very young, I gained weight from a very early age, and I think those helped me develop my strength. I already had this strength before I started going to the gym, but today, I do strength work and the result has been very effective.”
Demetrious Johnson gives his thoughts on John Lineker vs. Fabricio Andrade at ONE on Prime Video 3
The next time ONE Championship invades Amazon Prime Video, it will deliver one of the hardest-hitting main events of all time when undefeated knockout artists Lineker and Andrade square off for the ONE bantamweight world championship.
Knowing a thing or two about competing on the big stage at U.S. primetime is current flyweight world titleholder Demetrious Johnson. Fresh off his spectacular fourth-round knockout of Adriano Moraes at ONE on Prime Video 1, ‘Mighty Mouse’ sat down with ONE Championship to discuss the highly-anticipated bantamweight title clash on October 21st:
“I think it’s going to come down to when John Lineker’s going to land his punches, right? He’s going to land his big punches. Obviously, he has the power to knock out anybody, so it’s going to come down to whether Fabricio Andrade can, one, take the power, and two, utilize John Lineker’s big swings.”
