John Lineker says Fabricio Andrade enjoyed a hometown advantage

Former bantamweight king John Lineker recently came out of the woodwork to remark on his latest loss against Fabricio Andrade at ONE Fight Night 7.

Lately, Lineker is still coming to terms with his loss after going toe-to-toe with his fellow countryman for four ground-breaking rounds. Despite showing no hard feelings to Andrade, the Brazilian veteran couldn’t help but notice a slight difference in his fighting performance as he fought inside the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand

Elaborating on the subject further, here’s what ‘Hands of Stone’ told ONE Championship:

“I believe I felt a little bit about the time difference, the weather… He was also tired, but I was more tired than him. I believe he is more used to it because he lives in Thailand.”

On February 24, John Lineker fought valiantly to put away his long-time adversary for good. Naturally, he adjusted his game plan and surprised Andrade with some heavy groundwork and intelligent striking.

However, as ‘Hands of Stone’ mentioned above, fatigue and weariness slowed the pace of the fight as they entered into the championship rounds. From there, Andrade, the fresher fighter of the two, began to pick Lineker apart with straight jabs and sharp knees.

Much like the first fight, Lineker absorbed an enormous amount of damage to his right eye that by the end of the fourth round, his eye had completely swelled up.

At that point in time, there was no other option for John Lineker but to throw in the towel from the corner to prevent further damage.

John Lineker fans stood up in praise for their champion as he left the stadium with his honor and dignity intact.
