American Top Team fighter John Lineker is rallying behind teammate and fellow Brazilian Adriano Moraes in his quest to reclaim the ONE flyweight world title later this year.

“Hands of Stone” made this known in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, saying:

“I'm going to bet my chips on Adriano in this trilogy, and I believe he's going to put him down and submit.”

Moraes will take on reigning flyweight king Demetrious Johnson in a trilogy fight at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on May 5 in Colorado, U.S.A. He is out to win back the world title he lost last August and get the upper hand in their head-to-head matchup, which currently stands at one win apiece.

But before Moraes and Johnson clash in May, John Lineker had his own “reclaiming” to do for the vacant ONE bantamweight world title on February 24.

John Lineker reengages with Fabricio Andrade for the bantamweight gold at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video in Bangkok. It is a redo of their initial clash for the title last October, which ended in a no-contest.

Prior to his first showdown with Andrade, John Lineker was stripped of the title after missing weight, which he vows not to have a repeat of in their rematch.

ONE Fight Night 7 will take place at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. All the action from the event will be aired live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.

American Top Team fighter Lineker will try to bounce back after being stripped of the title prior to his first clash with Andrade last October for missing weight, and before getting a beatdown on fight night before the match was ruled a no-contest.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, John Lineker said his focus right now is Andrade, opting to shut down any talk on future fight plans.

He said:

“Right now I'm 100% focused on Andrade, but I think the bantamweight division is hotly contested. There are certainly other challengers to the title. But at the moment I don't think of another rival, and I want to focus 100% of my energies on this fight with Andrade. Then I’ll see what comes next.”

Lineker was on a roll prior to the no-contest outcome last time around, winning four straight, including a title-clinching victory by knockout in the second round over long-time bantamweight king Bibiano Fernandes in March last year.
