An epic battle was scheduled to take place back in 2012 when Jon Jones and Dan Henderson were supposed to battle, but the fight was cancelled citing Henderson’s injury.
But post-Henderson’s retirement, nobody would have assumed that the two legends would meet in a cage. The two set out for action in a submission wrestling contest at Submission Underground 2, where Jones submitted ‘Hendo’ with an arm-triangle, thus bagging an impressive victory.
Post-fight, Jones grabbed the mic to call out his next target - the promoter of the event, his former foe, Chael Sonnen. He challenged the ‘Bad Guy’ for the upcoming event of the promotion, Submission Underground 3, that is scheduled to take place on January 29th 2017.

“I’m thinking me and you, Chael, should do a little something something,” Jones said challenging his former opponent for one more fight.
To this Sonnen responded by saying: “In that case, I will see you January 29.”
Chael Sonnen coached The Ultimate Fighter 17 opposite to the former champion Jon Jones with the two finally meeting in the Octagon. The match had not ended well for Sonnen who had lost the bout with a first-round TKO.

Sonnen’s return to the cage is scheduled for January 21st, a week before his scheduled grappling contest with Jones at SUG3. Chael Sonnen being the wrestler that he is, can finally get his revenge on Jones if he’s able to tackle the former champion by defying all odds.
