Jon Jones believes he should no longer be scrutinized for past drug violations considering UFC's revised rule set on fighter suspensions for picogram amounts.
The usual suspect when it comes to Jones has been turinabol. After he knocked out Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 in 2017, 'Bones' tested positive for the substance resulting in his win being overturned into a no-contest and 15-month suspension.
However, in a social media post in 2020, senior VP of athlete health and performance for the UFC, Jeff Novitsky stated that the promotion would no longer penalize athletes for violations for anything under 100 picograms.

According to a report by Yahoo Sports, in subsequent tests, Jones had alternated between positive and negative results for the same substance. One of those tests revealed 33 picograms of turinabol in his system, which is under the legal threshold as per the UFC's revised rule set.
So when a fight fan criticized him for his PED-ridden history, Jones was quick to clap back writing:
"Yep, worked my a** to prove my innocence. Now picograms are legal in our sport. Honestly, none of that will matter a few years from now when I'm covering my kids' tuition. You guys still laughing about what happened at the office, I'm outside on a golf cart."

Nevertheless, turinabol is far from the only substance 'Bones' has tested positive for. In 2016, he had popped for estrogen blockers clomiphene and letrozole ahead of his originally planned rematch against Cormier at UFC 200.
Jon Jones on Tom Aspinall keeping him relevant
Jon Jones hasn't fought since winning the heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane in March 2023. His inactivity has led many to believe that interim champion Tom Aspinall is the best fighter at 265 pounds.
Aspinall has called out Jones multiple times in recent times. After his win against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304, the Englishman even pledged his confidence in besting Jones if they were to fight.
Despite all this, 'Bones' doesn't seem to view Aspinall as a threat. When a fight fan asked him whether he was concerned about the interim champion, Jones replied with a cheeky response:
"Nope, not at all, but I definitely appreciate all the attention he gives me. I'm more relevant than ever. Haven't even fought. It's an amazing thing."
