Jon Jones recently gave his take on Dana White's Power Slap. Jones stated that he doesn't like people smacking each other, even though it provides athletes a chance at stardom. The reigning heavyweight champion did, however, back White's new endeavor.

Jones and White share a strong relationship, with the UFC CEO frequently claiming that 'Bones' is the greatest fighter of all time. Despite the opinions of many, the 55-year-old has repeatedly advocated for Jones to be No.1 in the pound-for-pound rankings.

Prior to UFC 309, Jones gave his thoughts on Power Slap in an interview with Nina-Marie Daniele on her YouTube channel, saying:

''Honestly, I support anything that Dana White is doing. It's [Power Slap] is different, but different doesn't necessarily mean bad. It's giving some tough guys out there a chance at fame, what they do with their fame is up to them. It's entertaining people, it's giving people a home. There are different strokes for different folks. But yeah, I do think it's very dangerous.

''That was 13 months ago. It's a $750 million business, so yeah. I even got power slap cups. I do a reality show and I throw it up on social media. When I say that this is the biggest thing on social media.''

Jon Jones shares update on his UFC return

Jon Jones successfully defended his heavyweight title at UFC 309, knocking out Stipe Miocic in the third round. Despite previous hints of retirement, Jones recently announced that he and the UFC are negotiating his return to the octagon.

In an interview with The Schmo, Jones said that he expects to fight next year:

''Right now, the UFC and I, we're in negotiations. We're in talks to see what happens next... Yes, yes, I will be competing in 2025, more than likely."
