While UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones is one of the most polarizing fighters in MMA today, with an equal amount of detractors and supporters, he undeniably loves engaging MMA fans. During the UFC 309 pre-fight press conference, 'Bones' asked UFC president Dana White to score him some free event tickets for a fan who's diagnosed with cancer.

The fan, whose name is Keyair, has osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. Despite the hurdles of his life, Keyair sports the widest of smiles, something Jon Jones is inspired by.

Mic in hand, Jones said:

"I have a very special young man here tonight. My man Keyair, I met earlier today. He was diagnnosed with cancer recently. And [to White] Dana, I wonder if you could get him tickets to my fight? That's awesome. Guys, Keyair's over here in the red [points to crowd]. He's such a sweetheart, such a sweet young man."

He added:

"I don't know if you guys can see him, but he has the biggest and most beautiful smile and I'm so blessed to have met him. And I promise to give you a great show on Saturday night, young man."

Jones said White will also give Keyair and his family "decent seats" and that "Uncle Dana" knows how to take care of his guests.

Jon Jones would "love to bury the hatchet" with former rival Daniel Cormier

One of the more interesting questions Jon Jones answered at the UFC 309 presser was whether he'd be willing to squash the beef between him and former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier.

Jones and Cormier had one of the most storied, dramatic, and memorable rivalries in the history of the sport, battling each other for the UFC light-heavyweight title for a few years. After Jones left the division and Cormier hung up his gloves for good, fans were speculating if the two would hug it out and end the rivalry for good.

On the topic, Jones said:

"Yeah, I'd love to bury the hatchet with DC [Cormier]. You know, literally, every time I see him, I try to give him a smile. To give him a handshake. And I just recently found out that he doesn't like that very much [smiles]. So I think I think I'll just give him a little friendly wave from the distance from now on."
