Jon Jones recently lavished praise on a former UFC fighter's new promotion and believes that it has all the potential to be revolutionary. Having the reigning heavyweight champion's seal of approval is significant, especially considering his resume in MMA.
Last weekend, former UFC welterweight-turned-BKFC phenom Mike Perry hosted the inaugural event for his new promotion Dirty Boxing. The ruleset is primarily striking based and includes all elements of MMA excluding the grappling and wrestling. Their first event was invite only, which included 'Bones', as they attempted to sell their combat sports vision.
Dirty Boxing posted a clip from 'Bones' conversation with Ben Davis on their X account, where he expressed his excitement to be in attendance for their first event and praised the promotion for their outside-the-box thinking. Jones mentioned that he believes the promotion will generate plenty of interest due to their ruleset encouraging constant action:
"I'm really excited to be here at Dirty Boxing. I really think this sport is gonna blow up. You got boxing, you got spinning elbows and spinning back-fist, forward elbows, it's exciting to be here and I really think it's gonna blow up, I'm really glad to be here for the first show."

Jon Jones describes how he would approach a bout in Dirty Boxing
In addition to heaping praise on Mike Perry's new promotion, Jon Jones also described how he would approach a bout in Dirty Boxing.
During the aforementioned clip, Jones mentioned that he would utilize his strengths with his distance and spinning attacks and noted that he was curious to see how the heavyweights competed under their ruleset:
I'd be popping the jabs, I'd be working spinning elbows. I'm curious to see if you can level change first and then go for a spinning elbow, that'd be really cool. But, I know you can't touch the legs but man, I'm excited to see the heavier guys get out here with a little bit more punching power, it's gonna be real interesting to see."
