Alexander Volkanovski is weighing in on the upcoming UFC 285 main event between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane for the vacant UFC heavyweight championship.

Volkanovski uploaded a video to his YouTube channel where he discussed former champion Francis Ngannou's departure from the UFC and analyzed Jones vs. Gane. He mentioned that despite 'Bones' accomplishments at light heavyweight, he may be in for a surprise when he fights Gane.

Volkanovski said:

"{Ciryl} Gane's range and movement, I don't know if Jon Jones has really dealt with that type of high-level striking. And now it's at heavyweight. It's a very very interesting fight, so I'll definitely be tuning into that. I can't wait for that." {6:39 - 6:54}

'The Great' also highlighted Jones' wrestling at light heavyweight and believes he can successfully carry that over into heavyweight, saying:

"Obviously, even though Jon Jones is a light heavyweight - a natural light heavyweight - his wrestling is next-level. I think he outwrestles most of the guys in heavyweight." {6:24 - 6:38}

There is plenty of excitement surrounding the vacant heavyweight title fight as fans will find out how 'Bones' fares against a top heavyweight, while 'Bon Gamin' looks to become champion after coming up short against Ngannou last year.

Alexander Volkanovski opens up about Francis Ngannou's UFC departure

Alexander Volkanovski opened up about Francis Ngannou's departure from the UFC after the promotion failed to agree to terms for a new contract, resulting in 'The Predator' being stripped of a title and Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane being booked for the vacant title.

The reigning featherweight champion uploaded a video to his YouTube channel where he talked about what could be next for Ngannou now that he is a free agent.

Alexander Volkanovski mentioned that there are plenty of options, especially considering that Ngannou left the UFC on a winning streak and after defending his heavyweight championship.

He said:

"He's obviously a big name and a big draw, and powerful dude. There's probably a lot of money in other promotions or other sports even, you know what I mean. So, you could even see him doing like WWE and going to Japan, and doing things like that over there." {5:51- 6:04}
