Jon Jones hasn't fought since winning the heavyweight championship against Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 in 2023. Now, with the interim champion Tom Aspinall having already defended his title once, many believe the Englishman to be the top dog at heavyweight.
So naturally, there is huge fan interest for Jones to duke it out against Aspinall and unify the titles. One netizen recently quizzed 'Bones' if he ever plans to fight the interim title holder, prompting him to respond with a cryptic message:
"You don't get this far in your career looking past opponents. Right now I'm fighting Stipe [Miocic] and I guarantee you'll be watching."

Whether or not, Aspinall is currently on Jones' hit list, the heavyweight champion seems confident that he'd get the better of the 31-year-old were they to fight each other.
In a recent post on X, Jones wrote:
"Bro, absolutely [I'd beat Aspinall] I'm getting close to being in fighting shape and I'm weighing in at 245 [pounds] now. He probably cuts weight to get down to heavyweight. The night we fought he would probably weigh a solid 25 pounds more than me, seven years younger, and I would still whip his a** like I've done everyone else. You guys can go ahead and believe the hype, I'll keep doing what I've always done, win."

Jon Jones is the underdog against Tom Aspinall
While Jon Jones is widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, the oddsmakers see him as an underdog in a potential title unification fight against Tom Aspinall.
The bookmakers at BetOnline have Aspinall as a -150 favorite for the matchup, with 'Bones' as a +130 underdog.
Apart from a DQ loss to Matt Hamill, at the Ultimate Fighter 10 finale in 2009, Jones has never tasted defeat in his career.
The former long-reigning light-heavyweight champion holds wins against bonafide legends of the sport including Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua, Lyoto Machida, Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, and Daniel Cormier among others.
While Aspinall has yet to build a legacy rivaling Jones', he is more battle-tested as a heavyweight. The Team Kaobon affiliate holds dominant wins against current divisional elites, including Sergei Pavlovich, Curtis Blaydes, and Alexander Volkov.
