Former long-reigning light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is considered by many to be the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. So when he announced his heavyweight aspirations in 2020, fight fans were all for it.
Although the 35-year-old has clearly been training hard and putting on the size required to face the heavyweight titans, it's now 2023, and 'Bones' still has not made his heavyweight debut.
The long wait seems to have gotten on the nerves of fight fans. In a recent Twitter post, @GoatStPiHair complied various tweets by Jones to remind the MMA fandom that the fighter has been boasting of capturing heavyweight gold for almost three years at this point.
The post comprises three tweets by 'Bones' from 2021, 2022, and 2023, where the fighter suggests that he'll become the heavyweight champion.

When Jon Jones spoke about a possible fight with Francis Ngannou
Jon Jones believes he can beat knockout artist Francis Ngannou if he can weather the Cameroonian's storm in the first round. During episode #13 of Steve-O's Wild Ride Podcast, Jones explained how he would approach a possible fight with 'The Predator'.
The American stated that once he accepts that there is a possibility of Ngannou knocking him out, the rest becomes easy. 'Bones' added that if 'The Predator' fails to KO him, there are a plethora of ways for him to get the win:
"With Francis Ngannou, it's very simple. Get comfortable with the worst-case scenario. [Which is] He could knock you the f**k out. He possibly fractures a bone in your face... You get really comfortable with that idea, then it becomes easy. If he doesn't knock you out... [and] you are fast, you are smart, you have a chin, you have great head movement, you can wrestle [then] there is a lot of ways things can play out. If I don't get knocked out, I believe I win that fight. I just have to get through Round 1 and I win that fight."
