Tom Aspinall was able to successfully defend his interim heavyweight title for the first time when he defeated Curtis Blaydes via first-round TKO in the co-main event of UFC 304 last month. While he has angled for a title unification bout against Jon Jones, 'Bones' and the UFC have both remained adamant that the planned bout against Stipe Miocic will be his next fight.
The No. 1-ranked heavyweight recently revealed that he has heard rumors that 'The Silencer' is injured. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Aspinall stated:
"These are just rumors at this point. There's a lot of talk, but there's nothing announced yet. These are all rumors. I'm hearing rumors that Stipe's potentially injured. These are stuff that I'm hearing from inner circles. Stipe, I believe his birthday was yesterday actually, he's 42 years old. The guy is going to be injury prone. Jon Jones, a million miles on the clock. He's going to be injury prone."
Aspinall continued:

"Me, I'm ready to go, lad. I'm not even in my prime yet. And I'm hungry for it, lad. I'm not sure these two guys are, but I am and I'll fight either of them for the undisputed title on any notice. I'm ready."

Fans shared their reaction to Aspinall's claim of Miocic being injured, with @SlipsterOG suggesting Jones will tweet about retirement:
"Jon Jones retirement tweet incoming."
@undercoverNBA claimed that it is just a sign of Miocic's age:
"It’s not an injury, Stipe just walks with a cane at this age as it is"
@vicdamonesports believes Aspinall is hypocritical for labeling Miocic as old after beating a similar-aged Andrei Arlovski in 2021:
"What better way to diminish a win by calling them old lmao. So why is it so important to beat them if they are old and beaten down smh Where was this energy when he was fighting 43 y/o Arlovski? Insane reasoning and the 🐑 just following the herd no matter how dumb it sounds"
@ScottyPistols noted that Aspinall's social media push will not stop Jones from facing Miocic:
"Him making a video once a week isn’t going to change anything"
