MMA fans recently expressed their opinions about the rumors of the possible timeline revelation for the eagerly awaited Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall fight.
Aspinall made his intentions clear about facing Jones for a title unification bout right after his heavyweight interim title victory against Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295. However, Jones never showed any interest in accepting Aspinall's callout, labeling him an undeserving rival for himself.
As per the UFC's trend, Aspinall should have been Jones' next rival after the Rochester native defended his title against Stipe Miocic successfully at UFC 309. However, Jones elected Alex Pereira as his next preferred rival, continuing to count Aspinall's resume as too inferior to fight him.
A recent X update from the CBS News and Yahoo Sports-featured reporter, Rueben Carter mentioned that the UFC authorities have almost completed the negotiations to make the Jones vs. Aspinall fight happen. It also detailed that the encounter might happen in July 2025. Carter's update read:

Despite no such announcement from the UFC brass, fans presented several opinions about the Jones vs. Aspinall timeline revelation rumor in the comment section of Carter's update. One such comment read:
"Do you know how many times Jones could be arrested by July! [?]"
Others concurred:
"Jon suddenly going to have an injury out of nowhere to not fight lol"
"Once signed hopefully nobody backs out..."
"Nah, Jon Jones would never let that fight happen. Tom Aspinall scares him. Jones doesn't want a stain on his record."

Another potential rival of Jon Jones isn't much interested in their eagerly anticipated fight
Just like the Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall fight, the MMA community has also been massively interested in a fight between 'Bones' and the former UFC heavyweight champ, Francis Ngannou. Fans had been vouching for this fight since Ngannou's days in the UFC.
However, in a recent interview with Seconds Out's Radio Rahim, Ngannou mentioned that he had lost interest in the Jones fight due to the delay in the fight materializing. Ngannou said:
"It's been four years that I've been singing. I'm confused that people keep asking me this question. Like, it's been four years."
Ngannou also stated:
"That's not my problem. I don't care about it anymore. If it happen, yes. If it doesn't, f**k it."
