British striking superstar Jonathan Haggerty had a rivalry with Thai sensation Rodtang Jitmuangnon during his time in the flyweight Muay Thai division, especially when they fought for the coveted 26-pound golden belt on two separate occasions in 2019 and 2020.

In a recent appearance on the Winners Talking Podcast, the current undisputed ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion was asked if his battles with 'The Iron Man' have further cemented Rodtang's status as a superstar.

He gladly agreed by saying:

"Yeah yeah. That was it. I think he's a superstar now, a huge superstar in Asia."

Haggerty and Rodtang fought in August 2019 at ONE: Dawn of Heroes and in January 2020 at ONE: A New Tomorrow, where the latter took the victories - one by unanimous decision and the other via a third-round TKO.

Although 'The General' took those defeats with him, it paved the way for him to compete in the heavier weight class, thrived, and eventually became a two-sport world champion.

Jonathan Haggerty aims to make 2025 his best year in ONE Championship after a rough end to 2024

The Londoner is coming off a tough first-round defeat at the hands of Superlek Kiatmoo9 in their super fight at ONE 168: Denver last September.

But in a recent interview with ONE Championship, Jonathan Haggerty wants to make this new calendar year his best yet, by stating:

"I wouldn't say it's the best year I've had. 2023 was a great in comparison. It's the way it goes; you can't always have it your way. I'm just going to make sure 2025 is going to be the best year possible."

The Knowlesy Academy and Team Underground athlete will look to have a great start to the year by fending off the challenge of his upcoming challenger, 'Demon Blade' Wei Rui, in the main event of ONE 171: Qatar on Feb. 20 inside the Lusail Sports Arena.

ONE 171: Qatar will air live from the Lusail Sports Arena. Early bird tickets are now available on ONE Championship's official website.
