Former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty recently gave his prediction on the world title fight between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Joseph Lasiri.

Rodtang will be putting his ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title on the line against strawweight Muay Thai king Lasiri. The latter will be moving up in weight to hopefully become a two-division world champ.

Jonathan Haggerty has had significant history with Rodtang, as the two fought a 2-fight series for the belt in one of the best rivalries the sport has ever seen. Given his first-hand experience with the Thai superstar in the ring, 'The General' has valuable insights into what the outcome of the co-main event of ONE on Prime Video 4 will be.

In an interview with The MMA Superfan, however, the Brit had a rather timid but straightforward answer to the question of who will win on November 18:

"I feel Rodtang [wins]. For some reason, I think Lasiri can take it out the bag but we’ll have to wait and see. I’ll be happy for both of them if they win."

It makes more sense for Haggerty to lean towards Rodtang more as he has had history with him while he beat Lasiri convincingly in their first and only meeting in the Circle. He does, however, feel like the Italian-Moroccan world champion will make the fight competitive. In the end, 'The General' is happy for both as he respects both world champions.

Jonathan Haggerty is open to transition into MMA in the future

Much like his former Muay Thai rival Rodtang, it looks like Jonathan Haggerty is open to transitioning into MMA in the future. In the same interview, it was pointed out that the Brit posted a photo of himself training with MMA fighter Arnold Allen on Instagram.

When asked if he included MMA in his regular training, 'The General' replied with:

"With the MMA sparring, I wouldn’t obviously do it while I’m in fight camp. I just do it when I’m out of fight camp just to keep active. Who knows, I could be going into MMA real soon. So just to get the rounds in, getting used to it, its no harm. But like I said, I won’t be doing that in fight camp."

To transition into MMA, Jonathan Haggerty needs to dedicate a full camp solely focused on acquiring the necessary MMA skills, particularly grappling. Still, 'The General' is already familiarizing himself with the basics and fundamentals of MMA by occasionally dabbling into it during his off-season. He's definitely going in the right direction.
