Reigning and undisputed ONE flyweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty of the United Kingdom knows his next fight in ONE Championship is likely the biggest of his career.

Haggerty is set to defend his coveted Muay Thai gold against Thai superstar 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9, and he believes a victory over the flyweight kickboxing king would cement his legacy as one of the greatest to ever do it.

Speaking to InsideFighting in a recent interview, Haggerty says beating Superlek would trump his 2023 win over the legendary Nong-O Hama.

'The General' said:

"I'd say up there with the Nong-O fight. I think this touches it up there a little bit. I think this is the most important fight of my career."

Since joining ONE Championship in January 2019, Haggerty has been on absolute tear in the world's largest martial arts organization.

He debuted with a victory over Joseph Lasiri, and took home the ONE flyweight Muay Thai gold against Sam-A Gaiyanghadao just months later.

After a pair of setbacks to Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Haggerty eventually decided to move to bantamweight, where he annihilated Nong-O Hama to capture the coveted Muay Thai belt.

Not long after that, he then became a two-sport world champion with a second-round knockout win over MMA champion Fabricio Andrade to seize the vacant bantamweight kickboxing throne.
