Jonathan Haggerty has exchanged some unpleasant words with veteran Liam Harrison in the past but on the heels of his recent loss, he said 'Hitman' reached out to him and gave him words of encouragement and advice. It is something he is truly grateful for.
'The General' shared this in his appearance on the Sky Sports MMA Club Podcast after he lost the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title by way of a quick knockout at the hands of Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168 in Denver, Colorado, U.S.A., on Sept. 6.
Jonathan Haggerty said:
"Just head up, he said. He's been there before in the situation I'm in. He's been in the game a lot longer than me, so he gave me a little bit of advice, which I'm grateful for, so thank you. Probably I'll come again, and that's it."

Jonathan Haggerty admits strike from Superlek was nothing he had experienced before
Jonathan Haggerty was caught by a solid elbow to the head by Superlek in their super title fight at ONE 168: Denver last month and admitted it was nothing he experienced before.
The British striker saw his reign as the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai king come to an end at the hands of 'The Kicking Machine' just 49 seconds into their title showdown through a counter elbow that dropped him and left him out for the count.
In an interview with the Sky Sports MMA Club Podcast, Haggerty spoke about the telling hit inflicted by Superlek, saying:
"I've been hit with them small MMA gloves and that's a game-changer. I've been hit with them before, and the shutters come down a split second and I'm back in the room. But this one is the first time that shutters come down for about 3 seconds like a big splash, and then next, you know, I looked up and I'm on the floor."
While disappointed with the result of his last fight, Haggerty said he is moving on from the defeat and vowed to come back better and stronger.
