Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations, and that very much summarizes Jonathan Haggerty's run to claim the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world title last year.

The Londoner headed into 2023 on a three-match winning run, including a victorious debut in the 145-pound Muay Thai division against Vladimir Kuzmin to book a shot at then-kingpin Nong-O Hama.

Nong-O was a heavy favorite to defend his crown against the Englishman for valid reasons. The Thai striking icon was racking up world title defenses, knockouts, and wins for fun on his way to a pristine 10-0 run on the global stage.

None of that seemed to faze Jonathan Haggerty, though. The 27-year-old only needed one round to finish the legend with his aggression and hard-hitting power in their tilt, thus becoming the first man to hand Nong-O a knockout in over a decade.

Proving that result was no fluke, 'The General' delivered another showstopping highlight-reel moment when he claimed the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title with a second-round stoppage over Fabricio Andrade.

Haggerty touched on his majestic world title victories and his road to greatness in a clip uploaded to his YouTube channel recently, saying:

"I believe I've had the hardest fights out there. I've never ducked any fight. I've always taken the hardest fights in the division on my way to the world titles."

Prior to his impressive showing last year, the Knowlesy Academy and Team Underground megastar got his hand raised against Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, Taiki Naito, Joseph Lasiri, and Mongkolpetch. His only defeats under the promotional spotlight came to Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

Jonathan Haggerty looking to continue his red-hot form at ONE 168: Denver

Fresh off another thumping knockout of Felipe Lobo in February, Jonathan Haggerty puts his bantamweight Muay Thai crown on the line against fellow ONE world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver.

While many believe 'The Kicking Machine' will have what it takes to upset the British striker in the main event of the bill, it'd be unwise to completely rule out Haggerty's chances at claiming another scalp given his form on the global stage.

He has, after all, looked dominant in the six-match winning run that he brings into the Ball Arena – and fans watching around the world and in the venue can expect another banger performance from the two-sport king come September 6.

Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available on Ticketmaster.
