Jonathan Haggerty is looking absolutely shredded ahead of his bantamweight debut in ONE Championship

'The General' Jonathan Haggerty looks absolutely ripped ahead of his comeback in the ONE circle. The English striker has not fought since early 2022 and is eager to return to action.

At ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18, Haggerty will meet dangerous Russian fighter Vladimir Kuzmin. Kuzmin has his eyes on trying to capture ONE gold in Muay Thai.

After showcasing his talents exclusively at flyweight in the promotion, 'The General' will now make his debut at bantamweight. The British fighter has had a couple of hiccups in his past two scheduled bouts, but will now look to start fresh in a new division.

'The General' Jonathan Haggerty overcame a troubled past

England's Jonathan Haggerty has fought for illustrious world titles in ONE Championship and all around the globe. 'The General' has become a notable figure in combat sports. However, he almost missed his calling due to a troubled past.

Haggerty said that he is grateful that his father pushed him to get into martial arts. He wants his story to be used to help elevate other youth. In an interview with ONE Championship, Haggerty said:

“They can look me up and I can tell them what I went through so they know they can achieve what I have achieved. I feel like that’s important – that they can find your story or you can tell them your story a little bit.”

The 25-year-old athlete said that he hopes people will push their kids a little bit more to get in the gym and find a path:

“I know sometimes they really don’t want to be there, but you need to push them, and show them some warmth and attention to make them feel comfortable. You need to get in a gym like I did. Get ambitious. Get a goal rather than following people. Have some positive role models.”

After a crazy 2022 that saw him win a huge fight and get pulled out in a couple of others, Jonathan Haggerty is excited to be back in the circle.

The former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion will be making his bantamweight debut at ONE on Prime Video 4, where 'The General' will meet Russia's Vladimir Kuzmin.
