“There’s no backing down” - Jonathan Haggerty ready to leave it all in the circle against Vladimir Kuzmin

After pulling out of his last two scheduled appearances due to medical reasons, Jonathan Haggerty, the former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion, is ready to leave it all in the circle against Russian striker Vladimir Kuzmin. 'The General' is expected to make his bantamweight debut at ONE on Prime Video 4 card on Friday, November 18.

Fans have been equally excited to see Haggerty in action since he resurfaced on Instagram with the astonishing announcement of his return a few weeks ago. Fully equipped to bring the heat in his Prime Video debut, ‘The General’ assured fans on The MMA Superfan to expect nothing less than to make a grand impression:

“I’ll just get ready. I’m going to come and put my all in the cage like I always do. I’ll fight with my heart. There’s no backing down. I’m just excited to please the fans.”

Jonathan Haggerty was itching to get back into the foray as soon as he could.

Over the last few months, the Englishman experienced a couple of setbacks due to his health. Undisclosed medical issues forced him to withdraw from two major events this year -- the ONE flyweight Muay Thai Grand Prix quarterfinals at ONE 157 last May and a Grand Prix alternate bout against Amir Naseri at ONE on Prime Video 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II.

Jonathan Haggerty predicts that his first opponent at bantamweight, Vladimir Kuzmin, will have a harder time beating him than any other fighter.

Currently sitting at No.3 in the flyweight division, it goes without saying that Haggerty has traded punches with some of the world’s greatest Muay Thai strikers. Recognized worldwide for his punching power, the Englishman believes Kuzmin is in for a lot of trouble inside the circle.

In the same interview, he said:

“I think he should expect a harder fight than when he fought Muangthai [PK. Saenchai] and if you expect me to hit like a bantamweight more than a flyweight…”
