Jonathan Haggerty is preparing for his bantamweight debut at ONE on Prime Video 4.
Haggerty is moving from the ONE flyweight Muay Thai division to the bantamweight division after pulling out of two fights this year. Welcoming 'The General’ to bantamweight is Russian striker Vladimir Kuzmin.
During an interview with The MMA Super-Fan, the former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion had this to say about Kuzmin:
“Vladimir is a very good opponent. He’s alot tricky and has a similar style to me. He’s not always in one place at a time. I can’t just stand there and give him some shots. Maybe I might push forward.”

At 25, Haggerty could make some noise in the bantamweight division, where Nong-O Gaiyanghadao currently reigns. With a win at ONE on Prime Video 4, ‘The General’ could find himself with a ranked opponent for his next fight.

Jonathan Haggerty is happier at bantamweight compared to flyweight
Jonathan Haggerty is done cutting down to flyweight. After beating Mongkolpetch Petchyindee in February, ‘The General’ pulled out of two fights because of undisclosed illnesses that might have been related to trying to make the flyweight limit.
During the same interview, Haggerty had this to say about being happier at bantamweight:
“The main thing is, really man, I’m a lot happier, socializing a lot more, and yeah, a lot more weight. To get to flyweight, I was eating a lot of fish and mainly just fish. But now, I’m on the steak, I’m on the chicken. I can’t lie, I’m loving it! So we’ll just see how it gets on. I have faith in myself. My team has faith in me. I’m sure we’re gonna go out there and crush it and make a statement. And who knows what’s on the horizon?"
Regardless of the weight class, Haggerty always shows up ready for war. Now that he’s at bantamweight, it’ll be intriguing to see if anyone not named Rodtang can take out ‘The General'. His first test will be at ONE on Prime Video 4 against the underrated Vladimir Kuzmin.
