Jonathan Haggerty is no stranger to being involved in the biggest of marquee matchups during his time in ONE Championship. However, the next defense of his bantamweight Muay Thai world championship comes with some added challenges.

Not only will he be facing off against one of the best in the world, Superlek, but the fight will take place as the headliner for ONE's return to the United States.

Of course, Haggerty is excited to close out such a big event at the Ball Arena in Denver on September 6. This also comes with some extra things to consider due to the location itself.

Denver is situated at a very high level of altitude, which makes it a great training spot for people who live there and a difficult place to quickly adapt to for fighters who do not.

'The General' has been taking the right steps to ensure that this won't hinder his performance at all by leaving him gasping for air, as he revealed in a recent interview with the South China Morning Post:

"So it is difficult. A lot of people think it's not a thing, but it really is. Hence why I've been climbing up the mountains, training in the mountains, on the stairs, elevation, and training."

Jonathan Haggerty is focused on preparation

Jonathan Haggerty may have a lot on his plate as the two-sport world champion but that isn't distracting him ahead of this fight.

He knows that he needs to be completely locked in if he's going to beat an opponent like Superlek, who has gotten the better of him once before, albeit many years ago.

The champ is making sure that he leaves no stone unturned before heading into what may be the biggest fight of his career to date.

Haggerty embraces the spotlight but that doesn't mean he won't pull out all the stops when doing the hard yards.

Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available via Ticketmaster.
