'The General' Jonathan Haggerty will be moving up a weight class and making his bantamweight debut at ONE on Prime Video 4. The former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion is curious about a few things with his new contemporaries.
The British fighter spoke with ONE Championship in an interview and explained:
"I'm just sort of curious of what my opponents are, like, how big they're going to be? As long as I'm confident along with being 100 percent ready for what I'm going to do when I step in there and put trust in my training and in my coaches, I’m good. If they say I'm ready, then I'm ready, man.”

Jonathan Haggerty struggled to make the flyweight limit earlier this year and thus will be moving up a weight class. At ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18, he will be making his debut in bantamweight Muay Thai against dangerous Russian, Vladimir Kuzmin.
Jonathan Haggerty will carry knockout power at bantamweight
British striker 'The General' Haggerty believes that his move up to bantamweight will necessitate greater striking power.
While speaking to ONE Championship, he explained how his larger frame will end in more knockouts:
“I know stepping up a division, it’s going to be harder to put them away. But I’ve got a saying: In the flyweight division, I was struggling to keep them on the canvas. But now that I’m in the bantamweight division and I’m bigger, they’re going to stay down and they’re not going to get back up.”
Facing Russian striker Kuzmin in his bantamweight debut is no easy task. Jonathan Haggerty is well aware of the challenge and believes he can overcome it. He explained:
“You know, it is a tricky opponent for my first bantamweight fight, but like I said, I’m always ready. I will be ready. But I’m expecting him to come out and put the pressure on me with his hands. He can try outmuscling me, but I feel like the counterstrikes and my Muay Thai experience will kick in.”
Fans can enjoy 'The General's bantamweight Muay Thai debut live and for free on Prime Video for all Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America.
