Jonathan Haggerty is confident his upcoming clash with 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek will be even better than their first.

On Friday, September 6, ONE Championship returns to the United States for a loaded lineup in The Mile High City—Denver, Colorado. Aside from the returns of Kade Ruotolo, Mikey Musumeci, Liam Harrison, and Aung La N Sang, ONE fans will see a can't-miss clash as two-sport titleholder Jonathan Haggerty puts his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship on the line against Superlek.

The two Muay Thai titans first met in 2018 at an event in the United Kingdom. Superlek scored the victory via a doctor's stoppage following the second round, but much has changed since then.

Speaking on their upcoming clash via his YouTube channel, 'The General' suggested that both he and Superlek have significantly improved, guaranteeing that their title tilt in The Centennial State will be even better.

"Now that we're both in our prime, and we're both on the biggest stage in the world, the fight is going to be even better," Haggerty said.

Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek have looked unstoppable in recent years

Both Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek go into their first meeting under the ONE Championship banner with a pair of impressive win streaks.

'The General' has won his last six outings inside the Circle and rides into ONE 168 on the heels of three straight highlight-reel KOs, including finishes in his world title-winning performances against Nong-O Hama and Fabricio Andrade.

In February, he put away 'Demolition Man' Felipe Lobo in an epic Fight of the Year contender at ONE Fight Night 19.

Meanwhile, 'The Kicking Machine' has been a busy man—fighting and winning five times in 2023 alone. Superlek bested every one of his opponents, but none were bigger than his win over Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE Friday Fights 34 last September.

He's since added another big W over Japanese kickboxing icon Takeru Segawa at ONE 165 in Tokyo, and a dominant decisive victory against Kongthoranee Sor Sommai at ONE Friday Fights 68 inside Bangkok's legendary Lumpinee Stadium.
