English strikerJonathan Haggerty has vowed to attain another world title under beloved striking coach Christian Knowles.
'The General' will have the chance to make good on that statement at ONE Fight Night 9 on Prime Video, when he challenges the great Nong-O Hama for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title.
Haggerty lost his flyweight Muay Thai belt to Rodtang Jitmuangnon back in August 2019. Since coming up short in the rematch, he has rattled off wins over Taiki Naito, Mongkolpetch Petchyindee, and Vladimir Kuzmin.
On Instagram, Haggerty promised:

Jonathan Haggerty chose Muay Thai over MMA in pursuit of attaining a ONE Championship world title
The 26-year-old has always been in pursuit of world championships, even choosing Muay Thai over MMA for that specific reason.
Haggerty told The MMA Superfan:
“The plan was, I sat down with my team, and there were two options. We can go bantamweight Muay Thai or we can go fully into MMA. I chose bantamweight Muay Thai because I feel like I want to get the belt again at Muay Thai. I’m destined to get that. I want that belt, especially the new belt. We chose Muay Thai.”
Aside from the losses to Rodtang, Jonathan Haggerty has been dominant under ONE's banner. In May 2019, he defeated Sam-A Gaiyanghadao to secure the flyweight Muay Thai world title.
The English striker is preparing for perhaps his toughest test to date, as he must solve the seemingly unsolvable puzzle that is Nong-O, who has won all of his 10 bouts inside the circle.
Not only that, but the Thai superstar has recorded knockouts in each of his last five appearances. Nevertheless, Haggerty has vowed to secure another world title under his boxing coach and he'll have that chance against Nong-O.
Make sure to tune in to ONE Fight Night 9 on April 21 to watch Jonathan Haggerty challenge the great Nong-O for the bantamweight Muay Thai world title, live from the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
All of the action will be broadcast live and for free to Amazon Prime subscribers across North America.
