Haggerty understands that his first fight in the division will not be easy. In the same interview, he shared his observations on his opponent by saying:
“Vladimir is a very good opponent. He’s a lot tricky and has a similar style to me. He’s not always in one place at a time. I can’t just stand there and give him some shots. Maybe I might push forward.”

Jonathan Haggerty will be going for ONE gold at bantamweight
British striker Jonathan Haggerty may be best known for his two wars against Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon. The two warriors battled over the flyweight Muay Thai throne.
The 25-year-old Haggerty struggled to make the flyweight limit in 2022 and will be moving his fighting skills to the competitive bantamweight weight class. ONE Championship's bantamweight Muay Thai division is ruled by dangerous striking veteran Nong-O Gaiyanghadao.
Also in the Muay Thai bantamweight weight class are feared strikers such as Alaverdi Ramazanov, Rodlek PK.Saenchai, and Haggerty's fellow countryman, Liam Harrison.
A major challenge lies ahead for 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty as he aims for the bantamweight throne. In the same interview, he explained:
“The plan was, I sat down with my team, and there were two options. We can go bantamweight Muay Thai or we can go fully into MMA. I chose bantamweight Muay Thai because I feel like I want to get the belt again at Muay Thai. I’m destined to get that. I want that belt, especially the new belt. We chose Muay Thai.”
