'The General' Jonathan Haggerty will be making his bantamweight debut at ONE on Prime Video 4. The Brit is moving up from flyweight but is not concerned about the size of his new adversaries.

In an interview with ONE Championship, the 25-year-old explained his attitude towards his new weight class:

“I’m expecting these guys to think that they can outmuscle me, you know? They need to remember I’m coming up a division, but I’m not just going to be a flyweight in there with them. I’m going to be putting on mass. I’m going to be gaining strength. I’m going to be exactly the same as these guys."

Bantamweight opponents who think they will be able to outmuscle Haggerty will be in for a surprise. 'The General' is not just moving up a weight class, he is putting on more muscle to fit better in the competitive bantamweight Muay Thai division.

At ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18 (US primetime), Jonathan Haggerty will be making his debut in the bantamweight Muay Thai division against Vladimir Kuzmin. This comes after struggling to make weight at flyweight in 2022.

Jonathan Haggerty will pack more power at bantamweight

'The General' is adding on weight and will be packing more of a punch in his new bantamweight home. While speaking in an interview with ONE Championship, Jonathan Haggerty explained:

“I know stepping up a division, it’s going to be harder to put them away. But I’ve got a saying: In the flyweight division, I was struggling to keep them on the canvas. But now that I’m in the bantamweight division and I’m bigger, they’re going to stay down and they’re not going to get back up.”

At ONE on Prime Video 4, Haggerty will meet the formidable Muay Thai striker Vladimir Kuzmin. Regarding his Russian opponent, 'The General' said:

“You know, it is a tricky opponent for my first bantamweight fight, but like I said, I’m always ready. I will be ready. But I’m expecting him to come out and put the pressure on me with his hands. He can try outmuscling me, but I feel like the counterstrikes and my Muay Thai experience will kick in.”

Jonathan Haggerty is looking to become a threat to the bantamweight Muay Thai division. It all begins at ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18.
