Despite the heartbreaking loss, Jordan Wright remained focused on his upcoming fight against Zac Pauga in the co-main event. He acknowledged that there were moments when he considered pulling out of the fight to spend more time with his mother, but ultimately decided to push forward. Wright believed that his mother would have wanted him to keep fighting and was rooting for him from above.

"There were times where I wanted to pull out of the fight because I wanted to spend more time with her, but I know she would have wanted me to keep fighting, and that she’s rooting for me right now... As long as I stay strong, I’m just going to make her proud.”

The fighter expressed his pride in having witnessed his mother's strength and determination during her battle with cancer. He remained committed to making her proud through his upcoming performances in the sport of MMA. For Wright, the memory of his mother serves as an inspiration to stay strong and continue fighting.

Jordan Wright UFC: Why did the promotion release the 31-year-old middleweight?

In the co-main event of the UFC, Jordan Wright's performance against Pauga was a letdown for fans, who expected a thrilling bout from both fighters. Despite making his debut in the light heavyweight division, Wright was unable to impress and was visibly disappointed by the outcome.

Wright was once regarded as an emerging prospect with an unbeaten record of 10-0-1. He has previously won two out of three fights in the promotion, displaying impressive highlights in the Octagon. However, his recent performances did not live up to his early promise, as he could only secure one victory in his last six fights, prompting the UFC's decision to part ways with him.

The promotion's decision to release Wright underscores the importance of fighters who are willing to take risks and seize opportunities in the Octagon. While Wright's potential was evident in his earlier fights, his inability to maintain his momentum has led to this setback in his career.
