Jorge Masvidal recently made it clear that he wants his next fight in the UFC to be a title shot against Leon Edwards. Despite losing his last three outings in the organization, Masvidal believes many MMA fans would be willing to pay to watch the bout due to the history between the two fighters.
Edwards and 'Gamebred' had a notorious backstage altercation at UFC: London in 2019. The famous "Three-piece and a soda" incident was caught on tape:

While speaking to MMAFighting on SBN, Masvidal stated:
"Just from the fan side, we definitely deserve it. Who doesn’t want to see me fight Leon [Edwards]? They might say I don’t deserve it, but they’ll still raise their hand in the dark and quiet, and be like, ‘I wanna see that fight and I’m actually going to pay my hard-earned money to go see that fight.’"
Watch 'Gamebred' speak about a potential Edwards bout here:
'Rocky' won the UFC welterweight belt after knocking out Kamaru Usman in the fifth and final round at UFC 278. However, Edwards has made an interesting demand in response to Masvidal's call-out, stating that he wants 'Gamebred' to beg for the title shot:
"Refer to me as 'Mr Edwards' or 'Sir' and get on your knees and beg and I may consider it."
How long has Jorge Masvidal been in the UFC and has he ever been a champion in the organization?
Jorge Masvidal made his UFC debut against Tim Means at UFC on FOX 7 in 2013, but has never been a champion in the organization. 'Gamebred' famously beat Nate Diaz to become the 'BMF' champion back in 2019, he has never been crowned champion in any of the official weight divisions.
The 37-year-old has competed for the UFC welterweight belt twice, but failed to secure gold on both occasions against Kamaru Usman. Usman finished 'Gamebred' in the second round at UFC 261 and won via unanimous decision at UFC 251.
Jorge Masvidal has since fought former interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington at UFC 272 earlier this year, but once again tasted defeat after five rounds of fighting.
