Jorge Masvidal reacts as bitter rival Colby Covington stays confident about becoming a UFC champion

Colby Covington, who is currently on a two-fight losing streak and lost his most recent bout against Joaquin Buckley at UFC Tampa, has big plans, despite not being on the winning end for the past two years.

Recently, he revealed on his Twitch stream that he plans to become a UFC champion. 'Chaos's' bitter rival Jorge Masvidal has responded to the American's intentions to become a champ.

During Covington's recent matchup against Buckley at Tampa, which 'New Mansa' won via KO/TKO, 'Choas' got a cut over his right eye, which forced the doctors to put an end to the fight. He is currently the No. 9 welterweight.

The 36-year-old was not happy with the stoppage. Post-fight, 'Choas' also revealed that he could not prepare for the fight as he was busy campaigning for President-elect Donald Trump. Fans, however, did not see Covington's post-loss justifications favorably, and he has been the target of internet trolling.

Recently, the former one-time interim UFC welterweight champion revealed to his viewers on Twitch that he has big plans. He said:

"We’re going to do the unthinkable. We’re going to shock the world. Daniel Cormier was a champion at 41. I’m only 36 years old. No reason I can’t be champion."

The altercation between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington

On March 22, 2022, Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington were involved in an altercation outside of a Miami Beach Steakhouse.

Masvidal assaulted 'Chaos' while he was leaving the steakhouse. The reason for 'Gamebred' attacking Covington was because of some past remarks he had made about Masvidal’s relationship with his kids.

After this altercation, 'Gamebred' was arrested, however, he pleaded not guilty.

Before the aforementioned altercation took place, the two combatants also locked horns at UFC 272, which 'Chaos' won by unanimous decision.
