Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz squared off in the boxing ring on June 6 in a rematch of their UFC 244 clash. After a competitive 10-round fight, the result went to the judges' scorecards, with Diaz being awarded a majority decision.
The scorecards read 98-92,97-93 and 95-95 in favor of the Stockton native. But with Masvidal having outstruck his opponent in every category except for 'jabs landed', the former BMF title holder was not pleased with the decision.
It was the Miami native's first professional boxing match since 2005, and following his first defeat in the sport, he appeared in front of the media. 'Gamebred' reflected on the result, noting his confusion at the scorecards, saying this:
"From what I saw I definitely hurt him more than he hurt me. I got way cleaner shots, especially to the body, he never even did anything to my body. I definitely hurt his body. A couple times I hurt him, he backed up. He put a lot of pressure [on me] coming forward, but he never hurt me. I don't think he landed any meaningful punches. But eight rounds to two [rounds] is f**king nuts. But whatever, it's California."

Jorge Masvidal open to third fight with Nate Diaz following controversial loss
Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz went to war in a thrilling 10-round fight on June 6, with many eager to see which former UFC fighter had the better pure boxing skillset.
Having shared the octagon once before, where 'Gamebred' secured the BMF title after a cut on Diaz's face caused the doctor to stop the fight, it was Masvidal's turn to feel aggrieved after an interesting scorecard awarded his opponent the victory.
During his post-fight press conference, the 39-year-old indicated his keenness to face the Stockton native for a third time. But with Masvidal believing that his defeat to Diaz was partly owing to the fight happening in California, the latter's home state, the former BMF title holder would like the trilogy bout to happen in neutral territory.
He said this:
"I was looking at the fight right now in the locker room, the more meaningful shots, a lot more of the meaningful shots were landed by me. I just feel that it didn't go my way. We're 1-1, we can run it back somewhere like [Las Vegas], make it a neutral place." [0:42-0:58 in Jorge Masvidal's aforementioned press conference]
