Jorge Masvidal recently lambasted Chael Sonnen's performance in his boxing debut and expressed his willingness to face the UFC veteran down the line. Last weekend, Sonnen faced longtime rival Anderson Silva in a trilogy bout inside the squared circle, an exhibition matchup promoted as the former UFC middleweight champion's farewell fight in his homeland of Brazil.
The match received online criticism for the subdued performance of both boxers. While 'The Spider' showcased speed and skill, Sonnen struggled to match the superior boxing ability. Since the bout was booked as an exhibition, there was no official winner, but Silva appeared to outperform Sonnen over the course of five rounds.
During a recent interview with MMA Mania, 'Gamebred' shared his thoughts on the boxing match between Sonnen and Silva. While the former BMF titleholder acknowledged 'The Spider' for his performance, he offered no praise for Sonnen:

"The fight wasn’t the best, obviously. Chael’s f**king trash, bro. I know I’m supposed to try and sell this fight and be like, ‘Yo, yeah, it’s gonna be a great fight. Bro, Chael was f**king trash. This motherf**ker’s trash."
Masvidal went on to critique Sonnen and also added that he would consider stepping into the ring with 'The American Gangster' if the financial compensation is substantial enough:
"I would not mind driving my knuckles through his face for a nice paycheck, breaking his eye orbital. Just doing everybody a f**king favor because nobody really likes that dude... It looks like he's doing some sh*t, you know, he looks like a full-blown lesbian."

Chael Sonnen sees boxing debut as a prelude to Jorge Masvidal fight
Speaking to the media after his third bout against Anderson Silva, Chael Sonnen outlined his future plans and stated that his boxing debut is merely a step towards ultimately facing Jorge Masvidal in the squared circle:
"This whole thing was just part of the process. I’m boxing Jorge Masvidal. I got called out for that fight, and I have agreed to that fight; this was all part of the training process, and I learned some stuff tonight."
