“3 weeks until we shock the world for the second time” - Joseph Lasiri determined to beat Rodtang

Italian Muay Thai striker Joseph Lasiri is ready to shock the world once again. 'The Hurricane' will meet striking great Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE On Prime Video 4 on November 18.

The 31-year-old rocked the combat sports world when he defeated multi-time world champion Prajanchai PK.Saenchai earlier this year. 'The Hurricane' dominated Prajanchai, who holds a 338-52 Muay Thai record, so thoroughly that he quit on the stool.

Thus, Lasiri was declared the new ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion. Lasiri will have a chance to claim the ONE flyweight Muay Thai throne when he faces 'The Iron Man' Rodtang.

On Instagram, Lasiri declared:

"Sunny days wouldn’t be so special if it wasn’t for the rain, Joy wouldn’t feel so good if it wasn’t for the pain 💫 3 weeks until we shock the world for the second time."

Italy's Lasiri is well aware that he is the underdog coming into this match. He is going up in weight and facing a powerful striker in Rodtang. However, the Italian fighter has been there before and walked away with ONE gold.

Emotion is everything to Joseph Lasiri

Ahead of his bout with Muay Thai great Prajanchai, the Thai-born fighter accused Lasiri of being "too emotional." The Italian fighter agrees with this assessment but uses it as a strength, according to him.

In an interview with Kickin' It with Tim and The Mechaninc , Joseph Lasiri explained:

"Prajanchai told me, 'Joesph Lasiri is too emotional for fight with me.' And this one is my emotion. He is the best one in Muay Thai. But emotion for me is everything. I put my emotion inside my training camp. I put my emotion before the fight. I put my emotion everywhere, and I show my personality. And that's the difference."

On emotion being everything to Lasiri, he elaborated:

"More than passion is emotion, because emotion is everything. Passion you speak only about Muay Thai... There is a passion of course but that step I think I passed many years ago, now the passion when you win the first fight, the second fight, the first title, the passion was boom."
