“I really like his style” - Joseph Lasiri responds to Danial Williams’ callout

Ahead of the biggest fight of his career, Joseph Lasiri is focused on his fight at ONE on Prime Video 4. Despite this, Lasiri still had time to respond to a recent call-out to set up a potential opponent for the future.

On November 18, ‘The Hurricane’ will face the flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a champion vs. champion match-up. After turning his career around in his recent fights, Lasiri produced back-to-back finishes to win the strawweight world championship in May.

While his clash with Rodtang is a huge fight, Joseph Lasiri still responded to another potential future fight due to a recent callout. In an interview with ONE Championship, Lasiri took time to talk about what could be next for him after ONE on Prime Video 4:

“Danial Williams called me out. I really like his style. I really like Danial Williams as a fighter, and I will be glad to share the ring with him. And he lost now in an MMA fight. But when he goes inside the arena, he always gives the show to the people, and they appreciate that kind of fighter who goes to the arena and does the job.”

Whilst he has predominantly competed in MMA since joining ONE Championship, ‘Mini T’ Danial Williams also has an extensive Muay Thai and kickboxing record. He has even competed against Lasiri’s next opponent Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a fight which was named the ONE Super Series fight of the year in 2021.

After turning his career around in his recent fights, Joseph Lasiri will attempt to write his name into the history books forever at ONE on Prime Video 4. The strawweight Muay Thai world champion will move up a weight class to challenge for the flyweight belt against one of the best strikers in the world, Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

With a huge test in front of him, Lasiri posted a quick summary of his thoughts on his Instagram page:

"Akimoto … Prajanchai … Rodtang they’re all the same to me ! I will make them part of my history"

Joseph Lasiri shocked the world when he defeated Prajanchai PK.Saenchai in May, winning the strawweight Muay Thai world championship and forcing the Thai fighter to quit mid-fight.

The Moroccan-Italian isn’t just a prize fighter. For Lasiri, it’s about carving out his own legacy in ONE Championship. In an interview with Tim Wheaton on Kickin' It, Lasiri explained:
