At ONE on Prime Video 4, Joseph Lasiri faces a huge fight on his hands. ‘The Hurricane’ will attempt to move up a weight class and add a second belt to his shoulder, the flyweight Muay Thai world championship.
Though a champion vs. champion matchup is a big enough test on its own, Lasiri will be challenging one of the best strikes on the planet, Rodtang Jitmuangnon. ‘The Iron Man’ has gone undefeated in Muay Thai since February 2020, winning four consecutive fights in ONE Championship.
Whilst poking the bear is not always the best strategy, Lasiri believes that he can use Rodtang’s aggression against him to give him the edge.
In an interview with ONE Championship, the strawweight Muay Thai king outlined his dangerous game plan:

“What is more comfortable? Fighting Rodtang [when he is moving] forward or fighting Rodtang technically? To me, I think it’s more comfortable to fight Rodtang if [he is going] forward. So, the game plan is to make Rodtang angry and then he will come to me.”
Challenging Rodtang will be Lasiri’s first fight since winning the strawweight world championship in May. The Italian defeated Prajanchai P.K.Saenchai via TKO to accomplish one of his dreams. He is now on the hunt for a second title.
“I don't know if that's a good strategy” - Jonathan Haggerty warns Joseph Lasiri to be careful against Rodtang
Whilst Jonathan Haggerty will be making his bantamweight debut at ONE on Prime Video 4, the world championship he formerly owned will be defended. The flyweight belt is on the line between two competitors ‘The General’ has shared the circle with, Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Joseph Lasiri.
After facing Rodtang for over 20 minutes, Haggerty was unsure about Joseph Lasiri’s game plan against ‘The Iron Man’. In an interview with The MMA Superfan, ‘The General’ warned Lasiri about trying to take the fight to the champion:
"Pushing the pace. That’s a good strategy, but I don't know if that's a good strategy against Rodtang. But who knows? I wish him nothing but the best and a good fight and I’ll be watching."
