Josh Demas, a rising star of Netflix's Love is Blind 2023, is garnering attention for his impressive MMA record and background in wrestling.
He was born on June 12, 1991, in Tempe, Arizona. Before becoming a reality TV star, Demas made a name for himself in the world of combat sports. He began wrestling in high school, where he was a two-time state champion in Ohio. He then went on to wrestle at Ohio State University, where he earned All-American honors in 2012 and 2013.
Demas is also an accomplished Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner, and came in second place at the IBJJF no-gi World Championships in 2019. He also auditioned for FloGrappling's version of The Ultimate Fighter, which premiered last year, called Who’s Next: Submission Fighter Challenge.
He was submitted by Izaak Michell in round 1 of the competition and was knocked out.

Josh Demas holds a record of 2-1 in amateur MMA bouts, but is yet to make his professional debut. His last fight came in 2017 against John Blangiardo at Gladius Fights 29.
Demas's MMA career was put on hold in 2018 when he was cast on the hit reality TV show Love is Blind. However, since the show's conclusion, Demas has returned to the cage and is looking to pick up where he left off.

Josh Demas became a reality TV star following his appearance on season 4 of Love is Blind on Netflix.
Aside from his time on screen, Demas is an accomplished martial artist and a project engineer for a construction company. He is an aspiring MMA fighter who fights out of the Soul Fighters gym.
Demas appeared on FloGrappling's reality show Who’s Next: Submission Fighter Challenge, which aired last year. During his introduction, Josh Demas explained his journey from collegiate wrestling to the jiu-jitsu mats, and said this:
So I went out to Thailand. I was training Muay Thai out there at Tiger Muay Thai. And I met Craig Jones' brother, Adam Jones. He was like, 'Man you should really get into jiu-jitsu.' And the rest is history, I decided to enter a tournament when I got back to L.A. and I ended up taking second in blue belt. I like a challenge, I've been surrounded by world class athletes all through wrestling and it's nothing new to me..."
