Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall II is finally set to go down this weekend. This 12-round super lightweight battle transpires on Saturday, May 25, at First Direct Arena in Leeds, England.

The proceedings will be broadcast on DAZN, but the event is categorically not a pay-per-view since it is on that service.

The main card of the event also features Cheavon Clarke vs. Elis Zorro for the vacant British cruiserweight title. Also, expect Paddy Donovan vs. Lewis Ritson in welterweight warfare and Gary Cully vs. Francesco Patera in a lightweight bout. Plus, George Liddard vs. Graham McCormack, Giorgio Visioli vs. Sergio Odabai, and Emmanuel Buttigieg vs. Anas Isarti bolster the event.

The overall card kicks off at 2 pm Eastern Time. The main event ring walks for this bad-blood-fueled sequel are expected at 5 pm.

Josh Taylor emerged victorious via split decision during their first clash in February 2022. The Glasgow bout saw Taylor retaining his status as undisputed super lightweight champion with a rivalry growing exponentially since that controversial first fight.

Many thought Jack Catterall should have gotten the nod with the perception of him being a massive underdog heading into their initial contest. There is clearly no love lost between the two and this multi-year feud looks to come to an end in the coming days.

Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall 2: Buildup

Josh Taylor sustained an injury earlier this year, which readjusted the timeline for this sequel. Taylor has since dropped his super lightweight belts to Teofimo Lopez that he defended against Jack Catterall the first time out. This has taken away a certain degree of luster from this contest but it is still one of the most intriguing matchups that can be made on the British boxing circuit all the same.

The native of the United Kingdom was dropped and also deducted a point in the first fight with Catterall. But Josh Taylor still got the polarizing win that was so eye-brow-raising that it saw one of the judges, Ian John-Lewis, downgraded by the regulatory body that oversaw the fight.

Taylor looks to go 2-0 over Catterall and remove any doubt that he is the superior fighter. Conversely, Catterall looks to garner a win over Taylor that many felt he should have been given close to two and a half years ago.
