MMA journalist shared his thoughts on Dana White's constant remarks that Jon Jones versus Tom Aspinall could be the biggest fight the UFC has ever made, along with White's ongoing praise of the heavyweight champion.
However, Jones has consistently dismissed the idea of fighting Aspinall for the heavyweight title unification and has instead shown more interest in facing light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira in a superfight. Yet, the UFC head honcho has made it clear that a fight between ‘Bones’ and Pereira will only happen after Jones potentially faces the interim heavyweight champion.
On The Ariel Helwani Show, journalist Andy Stevenson discussed the UFC CEO’s remarks about naming the potential Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall matchup as the biggest heavyweight fight. Stevenson asserted that once Jones signs the contract, White will shift his focus to Aspinall and begin praising him extensively. Stevenson said:
“I think it will be very interesting to see how Dana approaches this and the influence he wields in building up the fight. He’s already talking about it being potentially the biggest heavyweight fight ever, We know how Dana used to talk about Jones when Ngannou was in the UFC and flying high, saying things like, 'I don't know if he wants this fight. People say they want to fight, but do they really want to fight?' Now, as Changas rightly pointed out, he’s been glazing Jones left, right, and center for months.”

“Once Jones enters contract negotiations, the focus might shift. Glazing Jones could take a backseat for a moment, and the narrative might shift toward Tom Aspinall… Tom has gained worldwide support. I think the narrative will shift. Instead of focusing entirely on Jones, At the end of the day, Dana will switch up whenever it benefits the UFC business. He seems to see Aspinall as the future of the heavyweight division,” he added.

One fight that fans are eagerly anticipating next year is a potential heavyweight unification bout between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall.
During his appearance on ESPN’s First Take, UFC CEO Dana White revealed that Jones has never declined a fight with Aspinall and is not afraid of anyone. White stated:
