Juan Francisco Estrada is set to put his WBC and The Ring super flyweight on the line against the mercurial Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez this weekend at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The 24-year-old Rodriguez is among the fastest-rising stars in boxing and is expected to put on a show against the veteran pugilist.

While Estrada is coming off a majority decision win over Roman Gonzalez in December 2022 to retain The Ring super flyweight title and win the WBC super flyweight title, Rodriguez last stopped Sunny Edwards in the ninth round to retain the WBO flyweight title while winning the IBF flyweight championship. 'Bam' later relinquished his belts.

Given the stakes of their highly anticipated bout, it's no surprise that both boxers are set to make some serious dough. According to a report by Sporty Salaries, Estrada is set to take home over an estimated $2.5 - $3 million, with $1 million for the fight plus 60% of the pay-per-view share if views cross 500,000. According to Sportpaedia, Estrada made $750,000 for his last fight.

On the other hand, Rodriguez is set to make $500,000 for the fight. However, his total income could go up to $1.2 million if he cashes in his 40% pay-per-view share. According to Marca, 'Bam' made a speculated $400,000 for his fight against Cristian Gonzalez before taking home an estimated $600,000 against Edwards.

Given the boxers' previous earnings, we can assume the ballpark of their income for their next fight. However, it must be noted that these purse amounts are estimates based on reports and have not been officially confirmed.

Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez believes his age is an advantage for him over Juan Francisco Estrada

Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez recently discussed his upcoming showdown against Juan Francisco Estrada and explained why the 10-year difference in their age would be a deciding factor in the fight.

During an interview with Fight Hype, the 24-year-old Rodriguez spoke about factors that favored him over the 34-year-old Estrada in their boxing match. Pointing out that youth is on his side, he said:

"Yeah, I'm a lot fresher. I'm only 24 years old. Like you said, he is maybe like 10 years older than me so he's been through a lot of wars, [which] probably has taken a toll on him, but I'm expecting the best Estrada. That is what I'm preparing for."
