Newly minted ONE interim strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks has revealed his pick for the upcoming ONE lightweight submission grappling world title match between Kade Ruotolo and Mikey Musumeci on September 6 at ONE 168: Denver.
Brooks' selection was revealed in a recent Instagram video that ONE Championship posted:
"A new era for Kade Ruotolo 👊🌟 The American star defends the ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling World Title against flyweight king Mikey Musumeci at ONE 168: Denver! Who will leave with the gold? 🤩 @ruotolobrothersjiujitsu"

The video featured Ruotolo's MMA victory over Blake Cooper in June 2024 at ONE 167 inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. It was the BJJ savant's first MMA match, and he made sure to have a successful transition with a first-round submission win.
Brooks (@the_monkeygod) shared his thoughts on the said video and stated that he is rocking with the 21-year-old phenom in his world title defense against 'Darth Rigatoni' with his comment:

The upcoming match against the ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion in Denver marks Ruotolo's fourth world title defense since becoming the inaugural ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion in October 2022.
The Atos representative has successfully fended off the challenges of Matheus Gabriel in December 2022 at ONE on Prime Video 5 and Tommy Langaker in June 2023 at ONE Fight Night 11 and January 2024 at ONE 165.
Aside from those wins, Ruotolo also holds victories over Shinya Aoki and Francisco Lo. Now, he is looking to add Musumeci to his hit list in the world's largest martial arts organization.
ONE 168: Denver will air live from the Ball Arena in U.S. primetime on Sept. 6. Tickets for the event are available on Ticketmaster.
