Kade Ruotolo breaks down his world title-clinching submission over Uali Kurzhev

ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo won his ONE world title by handily submitting Sambo specialist Uali Kurzhev at ONE on Prime Video 3 last year. In a recent video uploaded to YouTube, Kade, along with his twin brother Tye Ruotolo, broke down his historic win over the Russian grappler.

It was a highly-exciting battle between two grappling specialists who are experts in different grappling styles. Kurzhev is a multi-time Sambo world champion while Kade Ruotolo is a BJJ world champion and the youngest ADCC gold medalist ever.

This contrast of styles was highly evident in the match as Kurzhev relied heavily on his left trips and throws while Ruotolo went on a dizzying wrestling attack. After a series of mad scrambles that could cause any observer to have a heart attack, Kade Ruotolo locked in a very tight heel hook that forced Kurzhev to tap out.

In less than a month's time, Kade Ruotolo’s brother, Tye Ruotolo, will enter the circle to compete in perhaps the biggest submission grappling superfight ONE Championship has put together so far.

At ONE Fight Night 10, ONE Championship will have its first event live on North American soil and it's packing the card with amazing fights. One of the most talked-about matches on the card is a grappling superfight for the ages between Tye Ruotolo and former ONE light-heavyweight and current middleweight world champion Reinier 'The Dutch Knight' de Ridder.

One of the most interesting aspects of the bout is the fact that Reiner de Ridder will potentially outweigh Tye Ruotolo by over 30 pounds. This doesn't seem to bother the young Ruotolo, however, given how he battled against and beat significantly larger men at the 2022 ADCC World Championships.

With De Ridder's size and weight advantage going against Ruotolo's frenetic pace and submission-heavy attacks, this bout will surely be one of the highlights of the night.
