Kade Ruotolo believes his twin brother Tye can take on Dutch grappling specialist Reinier de Ridder. 'The Dutch Knight' is the reigning ONE middleweight world champion and has won the majority of his fights by way of submission.
After ONE on Prime Video 5, Tye and Kade spoke with the media. On a potential Tye vs. de Ridder grappling match, Kade said:
"It was actually Tye who really wants that matchup. Tye's actually been looking for that one for a minute now. Both of us are open to it, for sure. I'd be more than willing to get in there with him."
Tye and Kade Ruotolo won both of their respective submission grappling matches at ONE on Prime Video 5 by way of submission. Meanwhile, in the main event, Reinier de Ridder lost his ONE light heavyweight world title to interim heavyweight world champion Anatoly Malykhin via knockout.

Kade, the reigning ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion, continued:
"Like you said though, [de Ridder] had a pretty rough one tonight, that KO finish was nasty... When he has recovered and [is] ready for it, I think a jiu-jitsu match with him is probably not as intimidating as someone like Anatoly."

Tye Ruotolo calls out Reinier de Ridder
Grappling phenom Tye Ruotolo has had an incredible 2022 in ONE Championship. The prodigy has stopped Marat Gafurov and Garry Tonon, both by way of submission.
After ONE on Prime Video 5, Tye called out Dutch superstar Renier de Ridder. In his post-fight interview, the grappling expert said:
“The true essence of jiu-jitsu is being able to beat the bigger guy no matter what, with pure technique, and I’ve seen Reinier de Ridder say that he’s gonna sub anyone in the world. I definitely want to test that ... I would love to get a jiu-jitsu match with Reinier. He’s a bit taller, but I think can definitely sub him. Let’s do it.”
Tye and Kade have had outstanding success this year. At the age of just 19, Kade has won ADCC and the ONE lightweight submission grappling world championships.
Tye also competed at ADCC, and has finished Gafurov and Tonon in the ONE circle to earn multiple $50,000 performance bonuses.
