When it comes to his aspirations in mixed martial arts, the sky is the limit for Kade Ruotolo.

The ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion has fallen in love with the all-encompassing discipline for as long as he can remember.

Now that he's competing on the global stage of ONE Championship, with the possibility of switching disciplines there for the taking, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt hopes to go all the way until he bags the prestigious 26 pounds of gold in MMA.

Though he knows it'll be another tall order, Kade Ruotolo remains ready for the journey, even if it means tackling a couple of tough obstacles along the way.

In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Kade Ruotolo offered:

"It's obviously a huge mountain to climb [in MMA], a lot of tough scraps along the way, but that's where I want to be."

Having aced his MMA debut to perfection with a first-round submission of Blake Cooper at ONE 167 this past June, the Atos representative is fired up to lace the four-ounce gloves again in less than two weeks.

Ruotolo goes toe-to-toe with Pakistani talent Ahmed Mujtaba in a lightweight MMA fixture at ONE 169 inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 8.

Kade Ruotolo keen to mix things up against Ahmed Mujtaba

As an individual who always strives for perfection and improvement, Kade Ruotolo does not want to rely solely on his bread and butter on the canvas to bag a win over Ahmed Mujtaba at ONE 169.

Instead, the 21-year-old talent, who's been under the wing of MMA pioneer Erik Paulson, hinted that he'd like to see how his striking fares come November 8.

In the same interview, he added:

"I'm definitely not going to look to just grapple him right away, you know. I don't want it to feel like a jiu-jitsu match."
