Submission grappling sensation Kade Rutolo wants to do his part to bring more attention to Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
In the last year, ONE Championships has gone all-in on submission grappling, introducing the world to some of the absolute best grapplers in the world and two new ONE world championships. Like fan-favorite Mikey Musumeci, Kade Ruotolo wants to do everything he can to help more people embrace BJJ. That includes putting away his opponents as fast as possible inside the Circle.
“So I think that the only thing I can do is continue to go put on amazing performances, try to submit my opponents as fast as possible,” Ruotolo said during a recent interview with ONE Championship. “Also, you know, step into the animation and use that jiu-jitsu in makers. When people see the submissions going down in the mat, I think it will really open a lot of eyes.”

Kade Ruotolo will attempt to add another submission win to his resume on June 9 as he defends his ONE lightweight submission grappling world championship against Norway’s Tommy Langaker. The two submission stars will square off in the ONE Fight Night 11 co-main event.
Both men will enter the contest undefeated inside the Circle. Ruotolo has scored victories over Shinya Aoki, Uali Kurzhev, and Matheus Gabriel, while Langaker has secured wins against Renato Canuto and the aforementioned Kurzhev. After securing 121 career wins in his storied career, Tommy Langaker will look to land his biggest win yet and walk out of the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium with 26 pounds of ONE Championship gold.
