Kamaru Usman recently weighed in on Sean O'Malley's bantamweight title loss at Noche UFC 306 this past weekend. The former welterweight champion expressed interest in seeing what's next for him as he looks to regain his title.
Unlike other champions including the likes of 'The Nigerian Nightmare' and Amanda Nunes, 'Suga' likely won't be earning an immediate rematch because of how one-sided the fight was. He was on the receiving end of a unanimous decision and will most likely have to earn a win over another top-ranked contender to earn an opportunity to regain the bantamweight championship.
During the latest episode of Pound 4 Pound, the former welterweight champion told co-host Henry Cejudo that he is eager to find out what's next for 'Suga'. Usman mentioned that O'Malley experienced the demands of being a UFC champion and could now be more determined to prove he can regain what he lost:
"I'm anxious to see where Sean [O'Malley] goes from here. I know it's a tough tough thing to be able to deal with when you become champion...The way that you seperate yourself is by you continuously being disciplined and making sure that you are getting in that work time after time...You're requested here and there...to where that cuts away from that time that you've put in to seperate yourself, so the gap starts to close."

Kamaru Usman disagrees with Henry Cejudo's claims regarding Sean O'Malley being fast-tracked
Kamaru Usman disagreed with his co-host Henry Cejudo's claims regarding Sean O'Malley being fast-tracked to a bantamweight title fight by the UFC.
Usman mentioned that although the promotion made business decisions, O'Malley fought and defeated whoever they put in front of him:
"[O'Malley] did have fights that seemed like they were favorable matchups but at the time, he dealt with what he had to deal with in order to get to the top...Sean O'Malley still went in there and said, 'I'm gonna take Aljo out in two rounds and he did that. These are the recipes for what makes a star."
