Kayla Harrison reacts to popular site naming Dakota Ditcheva their 2024 Female Fighter of the Year

Kayla Harrison reacted to a popular combat sports website for terming a PFL fighter as their Female Fighter of the Year. As 2024 is nearing its end, the fighters are being acknowledged for their performance in the year. MMA Junkie acknowledged Dakota Ditcheva for her incredible run in 2024.

'Dangerous' fought four times this year and won all of her fights by TKO. In her most recent fight against Taila Santos in November 2024, she won the PFL women's flyweight tournament.

MMA Junkie credited Ditcheva with an appreciation post on Instagram while conferring the FFOY award on her by writing:

"Dakota Ditcheva is the 2024 Female Fighter of the Year after a 4-0 run that ended in a $1 million PFL title."

Harrison responded to the post by posting a bunch of fire emojis while cheering Ditcheva:

Harrison competed twice this year in the UFC herself. She took on Holly Holm at UFC 300 and defeated her by a second-round submission. In her second outing, Harrison took on Ketlen Vieira at UFC 307 and earned a unanimous decision victory.

When Kayla Harrison suffered the only loss of her MMA career

Kayla Harrison has been actively competing on the professional MMA circuit since 2018. After having a perfect record for years, she suffered the first loss of her career in 2022.

The 33-year-old faced Larissa Pacheco at PFL 10 in the PFL women's lightweight tournament. After fighting through the five rounds of the bout, Pacheco handed Harrison the first loss of her professional career by a unanimous decision. She entered the fight with a record of 15-0 and the loss against Pacheco remains her only defeat.

Kayla Harrison made her promotional debut in the UFC in April 2024 and is currently on a two-fight winning streak. She is also ranked as the No. 2 women's bantamweight fighter in the promotion.
