Dante Leon is coming for all the bonuses. The multi-time IBJJF world champion made a strong first impression in his promotional debut at ONE Fight Night 26 in Bangkok, securing a quick-fire submission victory over MMA standout Bruno Pucci.
It only took Leon two minutes to lock in a slick triangle choke, forcing Pucci to tap out.
Joined by Mitch Chilson in the ring immediately following the contest, Leon was awarded a well-deserved $50,000 bonus courtesy of ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

Leon expressed gratitude for the extra paycheck and declared that it would be the first of many bonuses he plans to pick up on martial arts' biggest global stage:
"Chatri, thank you. Keep the bonuses ready because I’m ready to put on a lot of performances like that. I’m just excited. I’m ready [for] this. I’m ready to be in ONE."
Also earning a $50,000 bonus on the night was fellow submission grappling newcomer Cole Abate who scored a submission victory over Japanese icon Shinya Aoki, and Thai sensation Thongpoon PK Saenchai who landed a highlight-reel knockout against Danial Williams in the second round.
Dante Leon thrilled over the opportunity to compete in Bangkok
Making his way to Bangkok for the first time, Dante Leon had nothing but good things to say about his experience in The Land of Smiles and was grateful for the opportunity to compete inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium.
"My first fight week was awesome. Honestly, my first fight week was quite special. I've never been to this region in the world, let alone Bangkok. And growing up as a fight fan, my whole life, this has been a region of the world that I've always wanted to travel to".
"So to be able to compete in the most iconic stadium, and to be able to compete in a place where fighting is, combat, martial arts is so involved in the culture, is really special."
